15th week??....last entry...finale....

1. What do you like about blogging?
Blogging helps me to reflect creatively and critically on every week's class as I need to recall what I have learnt on that day.

2. What you do not like about blogging?
Nothing much just that when I insert the picture. I have to drag from top to the place where I want the picture to be. Sometimes, this process will affect the arrangement of other pictures and words in my entry.

3. What have you gained from blogging e.g. Language skills, improved fluency, critical thinking, improved thought processes, technology skills etc. How?
I would say through blogging, it helps me to improve my language writing skills and my English proficiency too as I need to write about what I have learnt on that day. In terms of critical thinking, yes as I will always think and reflect critically on what I have learnt and gain on that day. To be honest, this is my very first academic blog in my life and I find that it is really useful in my learning journey as an undergraduate.

4. What do you like about this course?
This course exposes us to a lot of technological skills such as photo editing, audio editing, video editing, computer and internet skills. Now I know how to edit my photos and edit videos.

5. What you do not like about this course?
Well, I would say is module. To me module 3,4,5 are ok but not module 1 and 2. Module 1 and 2 have too many tutorials to be covered and I find that sometimes I am out time to do it. With this, we have to be very good in time management in order to complete our task in time.

6. What have you learnt from this course?
I get to know a lot of technology software such as Photoshop, Photoscape, Audacity and many more.

7. What have you learnt from this course that you did not expect to?
There are tasks for each modules as it already takes us a lot of time to do the module, yet there are still tasks for each modules.

8. What have u expected but do not learn from this course?
The 2 books which we have bought at the beginning of the semester where I thought it will taught during the class. However, I still can manage it by reading the books on my own. As a university student, I need to be more independent in learning and not just everything depend on our lecturer.

Internet and computing skills

What do you like about this module?
-I have learned on how to find the some of the resources from the internet as well as enhance my computing skills.

What do you not like about this module?
-To download some document from the intrenet, it will take some time. This module also quite thick and lots of thing we should do.

What do you like about the task given for this module?
-The task really helps me to find some documents and information from the internet

What do you not like about the task given for this module?
-Nothing. But I think the task is quite confusing at first, but I managed to do it

What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?
-I have learned on how to search related documents from the internet. It really enhanced my internet skills( technology skills)

How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom?
-Yes, I can find some documents from the internet and use it as my teaching aids. Besides, I have learnt some computing skills which it really helps to enhance my skills to use computer.

The skills enable me to produce teaching aids that use song which surely can attract pupils’

Video Editing Skills
a. What do you like about this module?
I’ve learn something on how to edit the audio, know many software that can be used to edit the video such as windows movie maker, any video converter, etc.
b. What do you not like about this module?
I like everything about this module
c. What do you like about the task given for this module?
The tasks given required me to extract the pictures , the audio and it really help me by giving new knowledge about video editing
d. What do you not like about the task given for this module?
For some software such as windows movie maker, only a video with AVI format can be used. So, I have to find different software to do this task.
e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?
I learn on how to extract the pictures, audio from the video and it really helps to enhance my skill in editing the video and make it to become more interesting.
f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom?
I can pick any video that suitable with the topic, extract the pictures as well as the audio and use it as my teaching aids.

I’ve learn many things about new softwares as well as learn many things from Microsoft publisher
b. What do you not like about this module?
Some software make me confuse on how to use it and require lots of time to explore.
c. What do you like about the task given for this module?
I can explore many things about software, learn about something new
d. What do you not like about the task given for this module?
The tasks given was quite confusing and we have to be more creative in order to come out with a piece of good work
e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?
I’ve learning some searching skills as well as thinking skills on how to be more creative.
f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom?
Yes, I can come out with many things once I master doing all these and know how to use many interesting things. For example, I will come out with a poster so that it can be used to promote something or can be used during teaching and learning session.

10- If you can change anything about this course, state what is and elaborate?

Maybe in one module, do not repeat the same thing, maybe introduce only one or two things in details ( just li9ke before), doing the print screen etc and the rest is just the introduction and no need to do, just giving the tutorial. The task given also should be minimize, because there’s lot of things that we should do, for other subjects as well and it make we did not able to finish all the works within the time given

14th week....the last and only last....

entering the last week of this course created a mix feeling. it is just like mixing a watermelon with pineapple. just imagine the taste. sweet mix with sour. that is what i felt when the class is over.

But there are still many works that we have to finish and for module 4 tasks, the dateline is on 29th Oct ( Thursday).We have to finish all the tasks in module 4 which is about video editing and submit many things on Thursday which are:


~Task 1 ( pair, video editing)

~Task 2 ( Individual,-extracting audio and pictures from video,Lesson Plan)

~Task 3 ( Group, lesson plans)

~Module 4 ( video Editing)

Since this is the last week for our lesson, I would like to make some conclusion regarding on this subject. My point of view as well as my opinion. Frankly speaking, I have learn many things in this resources class especially something related to technology.I was really put my effort in this subject by doing all the tasks given.

13th week...Video Editing and submission...

we need to show our product of video editing to Pn Foziah and consult her for further improvement that we need to modify in order to produce a good video. A good video should consists of story plot with beginning, rising action, climax, falling action and ending. Again this is a pair work.



WEEK FOR SUBMISSION AND MODULE 4

THE TASKS THAT WE NEED TO SUBMIT:

We're already in week 13 and it means that only one week left before the end of the semester. I cant imagine that we are already in 13th week. So, for this week, we were asked to submit module 2 which is our E-book and lesson plans. Means there are only 2 modules-5tasks are waiting and we should finish it before the end of the semester.Frankly speaking, I have learnT a lot from all the modules. I learn how to edit pictures by using many softwares and its really interesting. Before this, I was not interested at all to use Photoshop software but now i've learn a lot for example how to erase the background, how to do some changes to the pictures etc. Forget about photo editing, let us talk about video editing. Before this I only know to edit and to make a video only by using movie maker,but from this module 4 ( mainly about photo editing, i've learn on how to use many softwares such as any video converter, Real Player, online downloader etc to edit the video. Besides, there are many things in this module ex: how to extract audio, how to extract pictures etc.It really helps me to enhance my knowledge as well as skills about technology.

12th week.....book..e-book..



what is e-book

today our lesson is all about e-book. in he simplest explanation, it refers to electronic book where we are no longer using papers but using technological devices as the book.

we were required to create an e-book. it should fulfill these requirements.
A theme to the story.


2) Setting (time and place)


3) Plot that shows the conflict, climax and resolution


4) Characterization


5) Navigational tools to make sure the slides can work properly (can go to next slide and previous slide)


6) Pictures must be clear cut and colourful, no different shades or shadows.


7) Sound to accompany the e-book reading.

For eBook, we were told to come out with simple ideas that would be suitable for primary school pupils. The most important thing when designing eBooks for primary school children would be to ensure they are colorful, they have capturing music on the background and the images are sharp. It is a challenge to choose the mosts suitable images and music for the eBook because those are the main elements that would determine if the eBook is interesting enough for kids.

11th week...edit..editt

For this week's class, Pn Foziah shared with us about photo editing. She showed us some examples of photos that have been edited.


WHAT IS PHOTO EDITING?

Photo editing encompasses the processes of altering images, whether they be digital photographs, traditional analog photographs, or illustrations. Traditional analog image editing is known as photo retouching, using tools such as an airbrush to modify photographs, or editing illustrations with any traditional art medium. Graphic software programs, which can be broadly grouped into vector graphics editors, raster graphics editors, and 3d modelers, are the primary tools with which a user may manipulate, enhance, and transform images. Many image editing programs are also used to render or create computer art from scratch.


Before Puan Foziah giving us some briefing about E-book, she told us to watch to her slides regarding on Photo editing which is for task 1. She showed us some examples of photos which already being edited and emphasis on certain things that we should do do in order to make our picture become more meaningful.I can remember the most important things that she stressed out are:That picture must:


- Have a story behind it ( maybe by looking at the picture we can think about the message of that picture, maybe it's about love etc)

- Have a copyright, means our signature


There are also many purposes of editing the pictures. The purposes are:

1) It will make that pictures become more interesting after being edited

2) Able to create our own pictures so it will become our teaching aids later

3) Arouse pupil' attention when it being used in classroom



Then, we were asked to edit what we have done and at the same time, she will move around to see our work whether we have to edit that picture again or to redo.


After that, we were asked to find our partner regarding on task 2 which is about E-book. Before we having some discussions with each partner, we were asked to look at some of the examples. Puan Foziah stressed out certain things:

1) that e-book must have pictures

2) It must have some animations

3) It also must includes some audios

4) There must be a storyboard of our E-book.

10th week...assigments submission date~UDACITY...




We need to do the ringtone, combine 2 songs together and edit the songs given. Puan Foziah have been listened to our task and gave her comments.Then, we need to edit our work. From her comments, I realized that there are many things about audio editing that I should improve. I have learn about some of the effects in audio editing for examples fade in, fade out so that the music will run smoot
hly.

My module 2 are still not finish yet. I'll try to finish it as soon as possible. At the end of the class, we were asked to submit all the assignments given ( the collection of the teaching aids and lesson plans). We also submitted module 3. See u in the next entry

9th week..PHOTO EDITING TIME....




We need to use ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS3 to complete this module.

7th Week.... Continuation of Module One

For this week, we were allowed to continue our module one during the class. With this, we are able to complete the assignment within the time given. Really thank Pn Foziah for letting us to complete our module during the class. Still, I had a lot of steps which were not completed. I need to work harder on this in order to complete the task given.

6th week...Computers and Internet Skill




This is our sixth week. We have been given a task to complete. The task is based on Module 1 - Computer and Internet Skills. .It consists of the most basic component of technology. There are several parts in this module. This module consists of ;
1) Web Search
2) Downloading ( software, video from Internet, PDF documents)
3) Uploading
4) Encoding
5) Storing
6) Scanning
7) Burning
8) Sending e-mail
9) Compressing files
1.10) File conversion ( PDF to Microsoft Office Word, PDF to Microsoft Office Power Point, Microsoft Office Word to PDF, Microsoft Office Power Point to PDF, Word to Acrobat Reader, Adobe reader manual, Zamzar Manual and Abclit)
Looking at the thickness of the module makes me wonder why we need to produce the module by completing all the tutorials in it. But somehow, I realize that this module helps us as future teacher to upgrade our technology skills. It shows us the step by step procedures and it is really helpful for us. It makes us clear on how we can do something. Besides, we can also seach for other ways in doing it and put it in our module.
These tutorial tasks require 20% marks and we are given 2 weeks time to finish it. We are asked to compile all these materials into portfolio by the end of the semester.
All in all, as future teachers, it is crucial for us to explore the technology and to equip ourselves with the basic technology skills. This will help us to become successful teachers as our education system demands the use of ICT and technology in the teaching and learning process.

5th week....designing teaching aids

For this week, we were having a lecture as usual. Before the class started, we were required to answer a survey questions which is something about self motivation. Then, Puan Foziah entered the class again and gave her instruction regarding on what we should do next.

We were divided into pairs, and each group member must be a girl and a boy. My partner is Zakuwan. ( actually, I know he is such a creative and imaginative person and I'm not creative at all,;p).Before we start, each group was given a topics according to given years.We have been given 3 topics which are:

YEAR 4 : LOOKING GOOD
YEAR 5: TRAVEL AND ADVENTURE
YEAR 6: PROUD TO BE A MALAYSIAN

INSTRUCTION:
We were asked to search for any TEACHING AIDS.It could be VIDEO CONFERENCING,VIDEO RECORDING,POWER POINT PRESENTATION,FLASH CARDS,etc. This activity is just like designing the lesson plan becuase the steps is just like in lesson planning ( set induction, pre stage,while,while and post)but it is more looking for the teaching aids rather than implementing the teaching steps.We will do the Implementation lesson plan in our assignment later. The format of this activity was given by our leader through email just after Pn Foziah told him to do so.

As what have been explained, "LOOKING GOOD"'s topic is more to one's appearance."TRAVEL AND ADVENTURE''s topic is about one's holiday and lastly "PROUD TO BE A MALAYSIAN"'s topic is something related to patriotism. So,we tried to narrow down the topic and find the suitable teaching aids for each topic.

As what have been explained by Pn Foziah, we were allowed to have many teaching aids for each steps and the more teaching aids that we have, more marks will be given.we tried to finish our task but the time given was not enough.The dateline is on Friday. so, we still have time to work on that.So, we will try to come out with many interesting teaching aids, we hope so;p

4th week....class canceled....

For this week, the class had been cancelled. So, we are one week behind to the another one class..huhuhu. So, I ask the class what they had learned on that week. They said that they had learned on how to download video, songs and lyrics from the internet. Hmmm…what a good things to learn. This knowledge is very useful, especially for me who doesn’t know how to download from internet..hahaha. Perhaps next week Madam Foziah will teach us on that.

3rd week...working with young learner...

For this week, we used our ‘text’ book and we were assigned to discuss chapter 1 (Working with Young Language Learners) in our groups. We were divided into 6 groups because there are 6 small bullets that each group needs to discuss.

For my group, we were given topic 1.5, The role of imagination. Children are very good in imagination and fantasy. The act of fantasizing, of imagining, is very much an authentic part of being a child. Thus, they love to describe something that sometimes is out of the box. Imagination also provides another very powerful stimulus for real language use. Thus, it can stimulate the children’s creative imagination so that they want to use the language to share their ideas.
